We’re excited to introduce a new feature in Display.Church that allows you to make your church calendar and events even more accessible to your congregation! With our latest enhancements, your website visitors can now subscribe to your calendar or specific events. Via subscribe buttons, your people can enjoy seamless subscriptions to calendars and individual events that stay updated. This makes it even easier for your people and first-time guests to stay informed and engaged with what’s happening in your ministry without lifting a finger.

What’s New about the subscriptions to calendars and individual events?

Simple for your people to Subscribe

Visitors can now subscribe to your full calendar and/or individual events and have it seamlessly sync with their built-in calendar apps (like Google Calendar, Outlook, or iCalendar). Here’s the magic:

• Automatic Updates: Once subscribed, their calendar or event automatically reflects any changes you make.
• Custom Filtering: Visitors can subscribe to only the calendar(s) and/or events they are interested in. This tailored experience makes it easier for them to stay engaged with what matters most to them.

From Static to Dynamic

Previously, we offered a one-time, static option for subscribing. While helpful, it lacked automatic updates. Now, both full calendars and individual events are dynamic:

• Individual Event Subscriptions: Visitors can subscribe to a specific event to their calendar, and any updates (like time or location changes) will be automatically reflected.
• Filtered Calendars Anywhere: With our powerful filtering tools, you can create specific event categories, grab the iCal or ICS URL, and use it in other places, such as mobile apps. This ensures seamless integration of your calendar across platforms.

Your website calendar is more than just a list of events—it’s a call to action. With these updates, your audience is not only finding your events but staying informed and engaged:

• Improved Engagement: Most people rely on their built-in calendar apps daily. By allowing them to subscribe directly, you’re meeting them where they are.

How to enable the seamless subscription to calendars and individual events

Subscribe to a Church Calendar: Just toggle on the Calendar Subscription option in the Design tab, Subscription section.

How to enable the subscribe buttons

Subscribe to Individual Events: Simply toggle on the Individual Event Subscription option in the Design tab, Subscription section.

NOTE: Enabling individual event subscription will apply to all the events in your calendar. In other words, each event will display a Subscribe button for that event. You cannot do this on an event-by-event basis.

Customization Options

Once the subscription options are toggled on, you’ll have plenty of flexibility to adjust the design to fit your church’s culture and branding. Use our default design or customize the button colors to match your church’s website. You can even make parts of the button transparent or inherit the color(s) from your church’s existing branding. There are many design items available to make sure the subscription feature fits seamlessly into your website or other embeddable components.

Subscribe Pop-up Design

Both the Calendar Subscription popup and the Individual Event Subscription popup will have the same design. As we mentioned above, you can tweak this to suit your style. However, please note that RSS feeds will only appear in the calendar pop-up, not the popup for individual events.
