Right on their Home Page, C3 has used the Display.Church Slider template. They have chosen the automatic scrolling option, but viewers can also swipe/click and drag to scroll at their own pace.
If you click on an event, a pop up displays with more information.

At the top of the C3 Events Page is a repeat of the Slider. Just below it, is the Display.Church Monthly Calendar template with an open Events List. That means, the events of the day are listed below the calendar view.

Notice the left/right arrows in the monthly calendar view. This is Navigation. Viewers can move backwards and forwards between the months to see both previous and upcoming events.
