Let’s take a closer look at this ‘mixed D.C’ example…
As we move through it, pay attention to how:
- Washington Street UMC (WSUMC) has put their church events up front and center in two ways: in a view on their home page + in their website menu. This means that members and first-time guests can easily find out about what’s happening—the first step to showing up. Consider: how easy is it to get to your church’s events listing(s)?
- WSUMC uses both Display.Church (D.C) and non-D.C widgets to their full advantages.
- This church used 3 different D.C. options to make sure their viewers can easily get information about church events.

Item 1: Home Page
Right under their map, WSUMC have captured people’s attention with a Display.Church Slider view as shown in this closeup:
If a viewer clicks on an event in the list, a pop up of more information appears.

A pop-up of more information about the event clicked
Just below the Slider, is a button named Events Calendar (see the Slider image above). Clicking on this button takes you to WSUMC Events Page.
In the image above, notice that we are in the Events tab.
Item 2: Events tab
This webpage displays a Display.Church Monthly Calendar view. Below the calendar view, they have opted to show an open Events List.

The day’s Events List
If a viewer clicks on an event in the list, a pop up of more information appears (as shown in Item 1 above).
Back to the Events Page tabs…

Notice the 5 buttons under the EVENTS opening image
The three middle tabs (At WSUMC, In the Community, Partnerships) use non-D.C widgets. Why not? We firmly believe that churches should make the best use of all the resources they have. As you can see, Display.Church has no problem being ‘neighbors’ with other widgets. We are happy to blend.
Item 3: Featured tab
This webpage displays the D.C Cards Grid view. If a viewer clicks on an event in the list, a pop up of more information appears (as shown in Item 1 above).

You can also get to the WSUMC Events Page (Events tab with monthly calendar) via a link on their Home Page: Engage –> Events.
