We’ve made several behind-the-scenes improvements to make Display.Church calendar subscriptions more reliable, especially when events are updated or part of a recurring series.
Previously, certain recurring-event scenarios could cause subscribed calendars to show missing events, incorrect dates, or older event information. We strengthened how Display.Church generates and updates calendar subscription files, including better handling of recurring events, time zones, and the metadata calendar apps use to recognize when an event has changed.
We also added additional update information to our calendar feeds so services such as Google Calendar can more reliably recognize and process changes. Testing confirmed that updated events were correctly reflected after these improvements.
What this means for you: churches can have greater confidence that people who subscribe to their Display.Church calendar will continue receiving accurate event information as schedules change. External calendar services still control how frequently they refresh subscriptions, so an update may not always appear instantly, particularly in Google Calendar.
