Tags are a simple way to help people quickly understand what an event is about. Whether you use them for ministries, audiences, locations, event types, or other categories, they make a busy calendar much easier to scan.
Previously, Display.Church’s Google Calendar tag display was limited primarily to the Cards List and Cards Grid views. We’ve now expanded that support so tags can appear consistently across all applicable event and calendar views.
Your tags can follow your events
When you add tags to your Google Calendar events, Display.Church already brings that information in during the sync process. With this update, those tags are no longer limited to just a couple of widget layouts.
Enable Display Tags, and your event categories can stay visible as you use different calendar templates and designs.
That means you can create a more consistent experience for visitors while still choosing the calendar layout that works best for your website.
Keep the look that fits your site
We’ve also kept the customization options that make tags useful and flexible. Depending on your configuration, you can display tags as simple text or pill-style labels, control whether the hashtag symbol appears, customize colors and styling, limit how many tags are displayed, and exclude tags you don’t want visitors to see.
We also updated the setting from the more restrictive “Show Tags in Card” terminology to a more general tag-display option, since the feature now applies beyond card-based templates. The default presentation uses clean pill-style tags without the hashtag symbol.
A clearer calendar for your visitors
The biggest benefit is consistency. Your team can continue organizing events naturally in Google Calendar, while Display.Church turns those tags into useful visual cues on your website.
Visitors can more quickly distinguish between different ministries, audiences, or types of events without opening every event individually.
It’s a small addition that can make a calendar with a lot of activity feel much easier to understand.
